Carrigulus The Tropical Planet

In the outer edge of the Andromeda Galaxy, humanity would discover one of the first planets to hold breathable oxygen for human kind. While the planet may be similar in its atmosphere and landscapes to Earth's, the size and mass of the planet is slightly larger than that of Earth's. At around 40,000 miles in length, and with a population of around 10,000, Carrigulus is seen as a new haven for humanity if necessary.
The biggest difference between Carrigulus, and Earth is that the planet has much more water than land. To the point where most of the planets population is aquatic based. Where as Earth's water takes up around 70% of the planets surface, Carrigulus' water covers 80 - 90% of the planet based on scientific research. In fact, every year, the water rises up to 20 feet for over a week on the planets land surfaces, but rather than seeing it as a danger, it's human population spends that week fishing for aquatic sea creatures that wouldn't have been seen before. The humans of the planet have called this week "The 7 Day Sea Rise."

Astrophysics for Dummies

I read Neil deGrasse Tyson's book Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, and learned about how planets in our known universe are made. Some being made from counterparts of the Earth's protons, and electrons. Resulting in many planets being more different to each other than we would know.
This made me think of the world that I was building in my project. Being that it's a water-based planet, and has large masses of land that reach the tallest peaks of the planets atmosphere, how would it be sustainable for human life?
While my planet is a long way from completion, it will be fun to learn about the science of how a planet is made. And how our planet is one of quintillions in a single universe is mind blowing to myself.

The Nome Kingdom of Oz

The world of Oz is one as fascinating as that told from the eyes of J. R. R. Tolkein, J. K. Rowling, or even as suspenseful and unpredicted as Stephen King. Out of all the famous fantasy worlds written in literature, many of them had their inspiration from L. Frank Baum’s own world. With movies, novels, even plays written in the style of the novel where it focuses on the Wicked Witch of the West and her struggles being who she is, the world of Oz is as in depth, and rich with life as any fantasy world. One of these worlds being set inside this reality being outside the Emerald City of Oz.
Set deep to the East past the desert, lies the land of rinkitink, where the Nomes reside. Based there is the Nome kingdom where the king there is a one minded individual who only cares about the power he can posses, and wants to rule all of Oz with an iron fist. Some say that the king’s overconfidence, and delusions of grandeur led to his inevitable downfall, and in many ways, it’s hard to see any other reason against that.
