Carrigulus The Tropical Planet

In the outer edge of the Andromeda Galaxy, humanity would discover one of the first planets to hold breathable oxygen for human kind. While the planet may be similar in its atmosphere and landscapes to Earth's, the size and mass of the planet is slightly larger than that of Earth's. At around 40,000 miles in length, and with a population of around 10,000, Carrigulus is seen as a new haven for humanity if necessary.
The biggest difference between Carrigulus, and Earth is that the planet has much more water than land. To the point where most of the planets population is aquatic based. Where as Earth's water takes up around 70% of the planets surface, Carrigulus' water covers 80 - 90% of the planet based on scientific research. In fact, every year, the water rises up to 20 feet for over a week on the planets land surfaces, but rather than seeing it as a danger, it's human population spends that week fishing for aquatic sea creatures that wouldn't have been seen before. The humans of the planet have called this week "The 7 Day Sea Rise."
